Millions of people take Adderall each day in the US, and a common form of it is the E 404 orange pill.

Read on to learn more about the E 404 orange pill, including its uses, side effects, addiction risks, and more. Remember to never take Adderall without a physician’s prescription.

What Is the E 404 Orange Pill?

The E 404 orange pill is made of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine. This is a kind of stimulant that targets the central nervous system to help users stay focused and energized. Stimulants that contain amphetamine and dextroamphetamine can also help a user improve their listening skills. CNS stimulants such as the E 404 orange pill work by increasing dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain, to boost activity in the central nervous system.

Drug Class

The E 404 pill is a CNS (central nervous system) stimulant, which helps boost mental and physical processes. Other common CNS stimulants are methylphenidate, atomoxetine, modafinil, armodafinil, pitolisant and solriamfetol. These are also known by the brand names of Nuvigil, Strattera, Dexedrine, Vyvanse, and more.

Common Uses

The most common use of the E 404 orange pill is for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, also known as ADHD. People who have ADHD tend to have lower-than-normal dopamine levels. The E 404 pill works by increasing dopamine in the brain, which then helps activate the central nervous system. The result is increased listening ability, focus, attention to detail, and a reduction in hyperactive, impulsive thoughts and actions.

The E 404 pill may also be used for those who have narcolepsy, a disorder that causes extreme drowsiness and lethargy during the daytime. Narcolepsy causes sudden attacks of sleep, which can be combated by the amphetamine and dextroamphetamine in the E 404 orange pill.

What Does the E 404 Pill Look Like?

The E 404 pill is an orange, round pill with the marking “E 404” on the side of it.

Side Effects of Taking the E 404 Pill

Like all medications, the E 404 round pill comes with some side effects. Remember to consult your doctor if any of the side effects are severely interfering with your daily life and are causing trouble.

Common Side Effects

Common side effects of taking the E 404 pill include:

  • Loss of appetite
  • Weight loss
  • Dry mouth
  • Upset stomach, or pain in stomach
  • Vomiting or nausea
  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Diarrhea
  • Fever
  • Nervousness
  • Trouble sleeping or staying asleep

Although E 404 can be known to cause the above effects, it is often prescribed because the benefits of it may outweigh the common side effects. If you feel that the side effects are too great and cause a significant disturbance in your day-to-day life, consult with your primary care physician.

Serious Side Effects

Serious side effects of taking the E 404 pill are:

  • Blood flow issues in extremities like your fingers or toes, including coldness, numbness, pain, or skin color changes)
  • Unusual wounds on the fingers or toes
  • Mental/mood/behavior changes, including agitation, aggression, mood swings, depression, abnormal thoughts, thoughts of suicide
  • Uncontrolled movements
  • Continuous chewing movements/teeth grinding
  • Outbursts of words/sounds
  • Change in sexual ability/desire
  • Priapism

Another serious side effect could be increased blood pressure. While taking Adderall (E.  404 orange pill), it is particularly important to monitor your blood pressure and notify your primary care physician if you are noticing any abnormalities.

If you take the E 404 orange pill and notice any of the below effects, call 911 immediately. Although the following effects are rare, they could indicate a dangerous allergic reaction to the E 404 orange pill.

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Pain in your chest, jaw, or left arm
  • Fainting
  • Severe headaches
  • Fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeats
  • Seizures
  • Swollen ankles or feet
  • Extreme lethargy and tiredness
  • Blurred vision
  • Weakness on one side of the body
  • Difficulty speaking
  • Confusion

Taking the E 404 orange pill could also potentially cause you to develop serotonin syndrome. This is when an excess of serotonin is present in your body, which could lead to negative effects such as:

  • A quickened heart rated
  • Hallucinations
  • Coordination loss
  • Twitching muscles
  • Severe dizziness
  • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
  • Fever
  • Unexplained agitation or restlessness

If you are also taking a different medication while taking the E 404 orange pill, your risk of developing serotonin syndrome increases. That’s why it’s important to never take Adderall without a prescription and always let your doctor know what other medications you are taking before being prescribed the E 404 pill.

Dangers of Taking the E 404 Pill

The E 404 pill is a Schedule II controlled substance, which means there is a high potential for misuse and addiction. Always take the necessary precautions when ingesting the E 404 pill, and never take it unless it has been prescribed to you by your doctor.

Interactions With Other Substances

The E 404 pill functions by enhancing levels of serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine. As a result, it may produce adverse reactions when used in conjunction with other substances, whether they have similar or differing effects.

  • Prescription Medications: It is essential to inform your primary care physician about all other prescription medications you are currently taking. Adderall, for instance, may interact negatively with tricyclic antidepressants such as imipramine, potentially leading to serotonin toxicity.
  • MAO Inhibitors (MAOIs): The combination of the E 404 pill with MAO inhibitors can result in severe, and occasionally fatal, consequences.
  • Products that Elevate Blood Pressure: Given that the E 404 pill also increases blood pressure, combining it with other products, such as certain cough syrups or dietary supplements that have similar effects, may result in dangerously high blood pressure levels.
  • Alcohol: It is crucial to avoid mixing the E 404 pill or any Adderall formulation with alcohol. Such a combination can lead to severe side effects, including uncontrollable vomiting, stroke, heart arrhythmias, tremors, loss of consciousness, paranoia, anxiety, malnutrition, or psychotic episodes. In extreme cases, it may lead to cardiac arrest or death.
  • Other Drugs and Substances: Similar to alcohol, the concurrent use of Adderall with substances such as cocaine or heroin can lead to severe complications, including the risk of overdose or death.

Misusing Adderall & Addiction Risk Factors

Misusing Adderall (E 404) can lead to negative effects—like an abnormal heart rhythm or worse. Additionally, E 404 is classified as a CSA Schedule II drug. These kinds of drugs are known for their high risk of addiction and misuse. Currently, Adderall addiction and abuse are high in the US; there are many ER visits that are the result of combining Adderall with alcohol or other substances.

Precautions

Never take Adderall without it being prescribed to you, and always ensure your doctor knows all the current medications prescribed to you. Do not take more than your prescribed dose, and never drink while on Adderall. If you think the Adderall is affecting you negatively or you are having a severe reaction to it, contact emergency services right away.

Overdose

Overdosing on the E 404 orange pill is completely possible, and may even lead to death in some cases. The overdose rate for Aderrall is usually 20 mg to 25 mg for every kilogram of body weight. However, this depends on metabolism, age, and if any other substances or alcohol have been combined with the Adderall.

E 404 Orange Pill vs. Adderall: Is It the Same Thing?

Yes—Adderall is simply the brand name for the E 404 orange pill. The E 404 orange pill is one type of Adderall; there are many different kinds, including the E 341 blue pill. The color of each kind of Adderall pill can determine the dosage and milligrams in the pill, while others indicate whether it is an extended-release version of amphetamine / dextroamphetamine, or if it is an  instant-release medication.
