Joining a Newport Beach or Long Beach, CA Rehab

When you’ve determined that you or your loved one have a problem, the first step is to talk to one of our treatment experts. They will help you determine which rehab facility in Long Beach or Newport Beach, CA could be a fit for you or your loved one and which amenities and accommodations will be the most helpful. After that, you’ll have to have a pre-screening phone interview with our treatment professionals to see if you’re eligible for admission into our rehab facilities.

Preparing for Treatment

Before you begin your journey at either our Long Beach or Newport Beach rehab facilities, you’ll need to take time to pack your belongings and prepare to be away for a month or sometimes longer. If you have a job, you’re protected by the law when you let your employer know that you’re going to rehab. Finish your projects and let your co-workers know you’re taking a leave of absence. If you have children, ask a spouse or close family member to take care of the kids. Helping your kids understand your absence will help them cope.

Pre-intake Screening

It’s important that you’re matched with a facility and rehabilitation programs that will work specifically for you. After calling a treatment expert, you’ll have a prescreen interview over the phone to determine the best rehab facility and treatments suited to your situation. Here are some of the topics that you can expect to discuss

  • Family life and history
  • Treatment history
  • Medical history
  • Current medications
  • Drug use and history
  • Mental and emotional health
  • Abuse and trauma history
  • Current employment

Financing Options

First, check to see if your insurance will cover the cost of rehab. Some insurance policies will cover this, and some will want you to contribute to the cost. Whether or not your insurance covers it, your payment options include paying before the program begins or enrolling in a financing option to help during this challenging time. At Gratitude Lodge, we’re happy to see if you’re eligible for enrollment into a financing program.

What Should You Bring To Rehab?

You can pack your own clothes and bring personal hygiene items to rehab, but there are strict rules. Pack clothing for outdoor activities, sleep, and special occasions—just make sure it isn’t offensive or too revealing. Plan to bring at least 30 days of hygiene and beauty products, but make sure they’re alcohol-free and are not in aerosol cans. Leave card games, electronics, candles, nail polish, and sports equipment at home. Games are provided. Instead, bring:

  • Clothes to last 7 days
  • Slippers and shoes for activities
  • Hygiene products
  • Journal or notebook
  • Calling card for long-distance
  • Relatives’ contact information
  • Small amount of cash for snacks
  • Debit or credit to pay for medication
  • Self-help or spiritual books
  • Stamps or envelopes to write letters
