Victims of substance abuse need help to break the cycle of addiction and become sober. Gratitude Lodge offers credentialed, medically supervised detox and rehab at our luxurious facilities in Long Beach and Newport Beach, California. Learn more about the 5 levels of care in rehab and what can be involved in each.
Every patient who turns to Gratitude Lodge for help with substance abuse receives tailored treatment specifically designed for their unique condition and circumstances. Our trained and experienced team first performs a needs assessment to gather necessary information about the patient’s health, health history, and substance use disorder, or disorders.
This assessment is the critical first step in designing the most effective treatment plan, allowing us to determine where each patient must begin in the 5 levels of care in rehab. A few sample questions that can be included in the needs assessment include:
These and numerous other questions are used as part of a comprehensive evaluation that includes many factors. All this influences treatment recommendations and how each patient’s treatment regimen will begin.
The team at Gratitude Lodge is happy to answer your questions about our detox and rehabilitation services and how we can help you or your loved one break the cycle of addiction.
Treatment for addiction recovery is far more complicated it may seem on the surface. While this breakdown of the 5 levels of care in rehab can provide a basic understanding of what takes place, it cannot fully explain the complete process required for every patient.
Some clients may participate in all levels of care, while others may only require one or two. The continuum of care is flexible and specifically crafted to every patient’s unique needs. The 5 levels of care in rehab are:
What follows is a brief explanation of each level.
Research proves that early intervention can help prevent substance use disorders. Those who may be at risk for substance abuse, or who have been found to have experimented with alcohol or drugs, may benefit from an early intervention that includes education and resources. While these individuals may not meet the criteria necessary for a formal diagnosis of abuse disorder, they may still be abusing substances.
An early intervention with trained team members from Gratitude Lodge through informal counseling or a structured therapy can often prevent a progression into full-blown substance abuse.
Outpatient rehab provides substance abuse treatment on a set schedule that allows the patient to live at home and attend therapy while still working, going to school, and meeting other obligations.
Outpatient rehab progresses at each patient’s rate of recovery. Your specific therapy and treatments are determined by trained team members who are constantly evaluating your recovery and adjusting treatment. Sometimes, a period of outpatient rehab follows a stay in more comprehensive inpatient rehab.
Gratitude Lodge partners with several Southern California outpatient rehab providers to facilitate the absolute best care for your needs. Contact us for more information.
Intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization still occur in non-residential settings, but they include more intense treatment and a greater time commitment from the patient. This can be for patients with complex symptoms, co-occurring disorders or those stepping down from an inpatient rehab program. This is sometimes called a “day program,” because patients usually commit to most of a day, several days a week, for treatment.
The credentialed professionals at Gratitude Lodge can determine if a patient would benefit more from this level of care in rehab, and connect them with one of our outpatient partners.
Residential or inpatient rehab involves 24-hour care and supervision on a number of different levels, depending on the specific needs of each patient. Program lengths vary, from a brief 7 days to 90 days or more. Each patient receives medical care, scheduled counseling and activities, with varying lengths of free time. Many will also be required to adopt some responsibilities at the facility as part of their therapy.
Gratitude Lodge provides comprehensive inpatient rehab services at our luxurious locations in Newport Beach and Long Beach, CA. Our credentialed and experienced team handles various levels of inpatient rehab needs for patients with many different addictions.
Medically managed intensive inpatient rehab is sometimes required for patients who still require more intensive medical stabilization after detox. Some withdrawal symptoms can linger for extended periods of time, making supervision by a medical specialist necessary. These patients still receive counseling, some activities as they are able, and other treatment in addition to needed stabilization measures.
Gratitude Lodge offers detox programs from a wide range of substances that can transition into this level of rehab when necessary. We have the trained and credentialed medical specialists needed to provide the utmost level of care.
Treatment for addiction recovery is not “one-size-fits-all.” Each patient must receive a tailored care plan that lasts for as long as necessary to help them become sober. Even then, other support measures, such as a sober living community, can provide extended help for patients to grow their self-control and self-discipline.
Substance abuse treatment at Gratitude Lodge is an individualized process. Each patient receives the level of care in rehab that meets their needs. Many patients need long-term therapy to help them maintain a life of sobriety. Our team provides that flexibility as we guide patients through their unique recovery journey.
